NDWA is seeking a dedicated Program Officer to lead our Gender-Based Violence Prevention initiatives. This role is critical in advancing our mission to protect and support women and girls with disabilities who face gender-based violence. The successful candidate will work closely with communities, partner organizations, and government agencies to implement prevention programs and support survivors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement GBV prevention programs and interventions targeting women and girls with disabilities
- Coordinate with community leaders, local organizations, and government agencies to strengthen GBV response mechanisms
- Organize training sessions and workshops on GBV prevention, awareness, and survivor support
- Provide technical support and guidance to field staff and partner organizations
- Monitor and evaluate program activities, ensuring quality implementation and impact measurement
- Prepare reports, documentation, and case studies for donors and stakeholders
- Advocate for policy changes and improved services for GBV survivors with disabilities
- Build and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the GBV prevention sector
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Public Health, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in GBV prevention, gender equality, or disability rights programming
- Strong understanding of gender-based violence issues, particularly affecting women with disabilities
- Experience in program development, implementation, and monitoring
- Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to NDWA's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Experience working with organizations serving people with disabilities
- Knowledge of local languages and cultural contexts
- Experience in advocacy and policy work
- Training and facilitation skills
